Greencastle, Kentucky
This site contains photographs taken in 1956 by my Dad, Mother, and my two oldest brothers at Greencastle, Kentucky. Greencastle is located in the shadows of Mount Zion church on the Barren River, five miles from Bowling Green, Kentucky. This was a favorite area for folks for fishing, boating, swimming, camping and recreation. It was also home to Brown's Mill, Lock and dam #1, and a river ferry that enabled access to Browns Mill. During a recent road trip to scatter my deceased brothers ashes, we had the opportunity to visit this area. This is a beautiful area of Kentucky that time has forgotten. Thanks to my brother Gene for sharing these memories, e-mails and new photographs.
